WTF And Why Not Me?

12/27/2019

When was your last, "WTF was I thinking," moment?

What did it pertain to? Something at work? At home? A small, personal decision? A huge, potentially life-altering choice?

You probably made your decision with the best of intentions. It's not like the majority of us walk around, wondering how we can drive ourselves nuts for days or weeks on end. But maybe you weren't fully aware of how difficult the road to your goal would be. And the deeper into attaining your goal you get, the more you sometimes want to give it up.
Who knew it would take so much time? Work? Energy?
Probably not you.

Now sometimes, this works out. You slog through those WTF moments and they turn into something incredible.

But other times, you slog and you slog and you slog...and the only thing that occurs are more WTF moments. Because it feels like you're no closer to checking off your goal. If anything, the damn thing flies further and further ahead of you.

So again I ask you...

When was your last, "WTF was I thinking," moment?

What did it pertain to? Something at work? At home? A small, personal decision? A huge, potentially life-altering choice?

I had one of these moments somewhat recently with a goal I'd set for myself. And it wasn't a thought I was prepared for—it kind of whacked me over the head out of the blue. But as it sunk in, I could feel myself begin to panic. Because that's what happens when your brain tells you that you shouldn't be doing something. That you have no business trying to better yourself. That you CAN'T do something.

What is that thing for you? What goal did you set for yourself?

Start a business.

Run a marathon.

Travel on your own.

Change jobs.

Write a book.

Re-enter the workforce after a long hiatus.

Be an entrepreneur.

You can absolutely do it. How do I know this? Because there are people out there doing it every day. But that shouldn't deter you. It should motivate the hell out of you.

You see, we know that if someone else did it, then damn it, we can do it too. It is our deeply rooted urge to survive that causes us to idealize and idolize other people who have done something that we ourselves wish to achieve. To compare ourselves. If he/she can do it, so can I.

Climb Everest.

Speak on a stage.

Get the big promotion.

Earn a spot on the team.

So I'm here to tell you: Yes you can do it. You can do it because it has been done before.

And that knowledge doesn't take away from what makes you, you. It should empower you. Because there is no one else like you. No one with your unique perspective and upbringing and values. No one who has done your dream like you would.

Even the infamous Wright Brothers didn't simply wake up, imagining they belonged in the sky. They first observed creatures of flight. And their invention—which has changed the course of history—came from one simple thought which, I'm sure, was not without it's WTF moments: Why not me?

Need help? I'm here to teach you  whatever I can that will help you reach your goals and market your way to success. Check out the tools I've posted or contact me!
